A - Z Blogging Challenge: 04.05.2026

Well, friends, I still haven't learned my lesson.  It is even later tonight than it was last night when I started writing my A - Z Blog Challenge post.  In my defense, it is Easter and I was busy all morning cooking and all afternoon being wife, mom and Gabba.  I am just sitting down for the first time all day.  I need to type fast before I nod off mid-sentence.

Progressing through the alphabet in ABC order, today is the fifth day of the challenge which means I am thinking about glimmers or little blessings that begin with the letter E.  And how perfect that today would be Easter.  Which is a big ole blessing in itself.  Doesn't get much better than eternal life, right?  Which, coincidentally also begins with the letter E!!  Actually, that probably isn't a coincidence at all as there aren't any coincidences where God is involved!!

So, what is it about Easter that makes the day glimmer-worthy?  Let's see...

E is for Easter

And E is for everything about Easter.  Just for starters, the reason for the holiday is a big ole miracle.  It doesn't come more miraculous than Christ being risen from the dead.  And His life being given for us.  So there's that.  Pretty good stuff.

Then there's the whole hopefulness of the holiday.  Hopefulness for a life beyond this Earthly one.  The hope that comes with the beginning of spring when everything is turning green and budding.  The return of birds and butterflies and bumblebees.  Sunshine.  Our El Paso poppies blooming again for another year.  The parks filling with families and the trails filling with hikers.  The world is waking up again to longer days and more daylight.

This Easter was full of lots of little blessings.  Here is the rundown.

  • we slept great and slept late (and that rhymes)
  • it was a cool, sunny morning
  • I noticed Easter eggs all around the neighbor's yard, so sweet

  • the first bloom on my rosebush began opening

  • PC discovered and saved a very unusual moth/butterfly in our pool skimmer bucket (see A -Z post for letter B for more about this significance)

  • discovered this precious message that Cady had left on the fridge for us

  • PC gave me a couple of early birthday presents - such thoughtful gifts:  the cutest tee, a darling coffee mug, and a heart-shaped stone bracelet with a heart for every month of the year (heart rocks are meaningful to us - more to come in a future post)

  • I prepared the holiday meal without a single hiccup (ham, turkey, potato casserole, green beans, sweet potatoes, stuffing, homemade bread and cake for dessert)
  • received sweet messages from my brother and sister

  • Facetimed with Brennyn and Declan

  • had time to scrapbook for an hour before the kids arrived
  • family time - enjoyed the afternoon with Lauren and her family, eating, playing, soaking in the hot tub, then an Easter egg hunt

  • the kitchen is clean, leftovers are in the fridge for tomorrow, and it's time for bed
  • tomorrow is my birthday
All of that made for a pretty glimmery Easter Sunday.  I am happily exhausted (which also begins with E).  Now to sleep well and have sweet dreams.

Hope your Easter Sunday was filled with little blessings, too.

Your Turn

How does your week look?  Is it going to be a hectic one or the stay-at-home, relaxing kind of weeks I crave?  So far, we don't have a single must-to on our list for this week.  That is a glimmer in itself.

Thank you for joining me today.  Wishing you a peaceful week ahead.

Hugs and kisses,
