Rewind 07.2026

Welcome, sweet friends!!   Thank you for being here today for my 07.2026 Rewind post.  It was another busy month.  And with it's conclusion, there remain only 4 months in 2026.  I just cannot believe that. Last month, in this post , I continued using a month-in-review formula similar to what my friend Deb at Deb's World uses for her Taking Stock posts.  You can find her most recent Taking Stock post, here .   Instead of writing an entry for each day of the month, Deb responds to 26 prompts - one for each letter of the alphabet - to summarize her life lately.  I spent some time coming up with my own ABC of prompts and used them in April . Used them again for May and have decided to continue in this format for my month in review posts going forward. With that, here we go... Rewind 07.2026 Amusing - something funny:  my El Paso granddaughters posing as they jump in the pool .  I don't even know how they get into these positions be...

Spring 2026 Bucket List and Goals: Final Update

Ladybugs, thank you for joining me for this final update on my spring bucket list and goals.  Thought I better get this written and published because summer officially starts tomorrow.  And to initiate this first week of the season, El Paso is looking at 7 days of triple digit heat.  Whew.

Spring 2026 Bucket List

This is the progress I've made this season on my bucket list of fun activities.

A reminder, this is the key I have always used to identify my progress - or lack there of!!

Completed

In progress

Not started or not completed  🛑

Taking the fail

Bumping to summer 🏖️

Here's how things wound up.

  • attend 1 public library event (carry-over from my winter list):  the Richard Burgess branch of the El Paso Public Library has so many great activities on a regular basis.  Have my eye on their crochet class or a plant swap. 🛑🏖️
  • Brennyn's visit:  she, Cadence and Declan visited over spring break.
  • celebrate Easter and my birthday on the same weekend:
  • complete the scrapbooking of our Alaskan cruise (sound familiar? yup, another carry-over): finished up the cruise and have started working on scraping our trip to Creede, Colorado.
  • create at least one collage with Jennifer Chamberlin:  nope, but will bump this to summer. 🛑🏖️
  • freshen hair:  had about 2 inches cut off the length, fresh layers put in and have finally learned how to use a blow dryer brush!!  I know...how old am I? Anyway, I am able to use it to fix this new, shorter 'do.
  • hike with Dick and Denise:
  • holiday in London, England and Edinburgh, Scotland: working on sharing our adventures here on the blog.  You can read about the first week of our trip here and here
  • open our pool:
  • splurge on fresh flowers:  started doing this last year and it made me smile all spring and summer.  Managed to treat myself to one bouquet this spring.

  • take a road trip to Ruidoso to fish:  just went up for the day: fishing, lunch at Cattle Baron, walking up and down the main drag window shopping, glass of wine at a favorite winery, a little more fishing and home. I have another New Mexico overnight trip up my sleeve for Father's Day.  ✅

Completed 9 out of 12 items.  That makes me happy.  Yay!!

Spring 2026 Goals

Here's how I wound up on my spring chores.

  • clean rock garden beds:  bought this Armor All wet/dry vac to make the job easier but still haven't gotten this done.  In my defense, we have had a couple of rainstorms and a lot of wind but I am hoping to tackle this project in the coming week.  Will bump this to summer.🏖️
  • complete 100% of my memoir course on Daily Om (sound familiar?? Yup, bumped from winter):  was at 77% complete at the beginning of the season but now at 96%, so close.  Will get this finished during summer and start on my next course.⌛🏖️
  • donate blood (didn't happen last season):  so easy and yet so hard to get done. Have been sick-ish since we got home from the UK.  Hasn't happened but will bump...again!!  🛑🏖️
  • finish writing the first draft of "Dots and Crinkles" and make progress on my 2026 writing goals (another uncompleted winter goal): YES!!  Finished.  Still editing but met with children's author Dianne Ochiltree for a Zoom consultation this week!!
  • hang bathroom hand mirrors (sound familiar??): have bumped and bumped this and it still hasn't happened.  I think partially because PC isn't really in favor of me hanging the mirrors.  Not sure I will bump this.  Might just dump this. 🛑
  • paint pull-outs on the pillars around our house:  we have determined what color paint we need and bought it, now to get painting.  Bumping to summer. ⌛🏖️
  • payoff the remaining balance on my Amazon card (I know, I know):  have been working so hard on this. I should have this accomplished FINALLY by summer's end.  Will be bumping it to summer. ⌛🏖️
  • plant veggies in our raised bed:  we planted and then nothing.  No veggies. Looked like we had peppers, squash and cucumbers coming up but as of today there is only one tiny cucumber hanging on.  Going to try adding compost: egg shells, banana peels, coffee grounds to the soil to give the plants a boost.

  • purge 26 things from my closet (bumped from my winter goals):  surpassed my goal.

  • scan the remainder of our family photos into Photomyne:  just when I think I have surely scanned the last photo, I find another stack of pictures.  Need to see if these have been scanned or not.  You would think I would remember to label them SCANNED for pity sake. Not able to claim a checkmark here, yet.⌛🏖️

  • unclutter and organize the garage:

  • work on my bikini body:  will call this a success when I am down to 138 pounds again but the work is never done!!

  • yard sale:

Not nearly as many checkmarks on my spring goals.  Of 13 items, I completed 6, so not quite half.  But I am happy with my progress.  Time to look forward to summer.

Your Turn

Did you have a spring bucket list or list of goals to complete during the season?  If so, how did you do?  Please brag a little in a comment below.  Then come back tomorrow to check out my summer bucket list and goals.

Off to do a drop-in visit for a little miniature poodle I am watching this weekend.  He is a cutie but not too comfortable with me yet.  Enjoying having a pup in my life, even just temporarily.  Have a quiet weekend.  Thank you for spending a little of it here with me.

Hugs and kisses,

  2. Great job! I am pleased with myself for sticking with a home exercise routine all month. It isn’t super strenuous, but it does require commitment 6 days per week. I actually look forward to it now and have bought more videos from this trainer so as not to get bored 😀
