A - Z Blogging Challenge 04.29.2026

Good evening from my bed at Hotel Z Covent Garden, London. I am, as my mother would say, about two sheets to the wind. I thought I was tired yesterday, but we have over 20k steps, which is 6k more than Tuesday. So this will be even quicker than the post from that went live today.

This, THIS is the second to last day of the A -  Z Blogging Challenge. I am about to the finish line. Hallelujah.

Today's letter is Y. And boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, it is hard to think of any words that begin with Y and could be considered glimmers or little blessings.

Y is for (Wh)Y

I have had a pretty crazy adult life. Lots of pretty peculiar things have happened to me. Many of them because I have done something stupid - like subconsciously leaving my wrecked car in DRIVE to call the police and having said car drive across the street by ITSELF and hit an imported cherry tree. There's no good explanation for that stupidity. I was even concussed in the accident!! But that's one in a million examples of mi vida loca.

Other times I have been befallen by crazy because of a bad decision or poor choice I made.  Marrying the wrong people - more than once.  Watching helplessly as my Siberian Husky went into heat every time the Army moved us. Then over and over having litters of puppies to contend with in a new duty station . I couldn't get poor Princess fixed before she and Polo would make more babies. Which was the very last thing Princess and I both needed.

I am often left saying 'why???? why???? why????'.  I exhaust myself at times!!

But I have to admit with all that crazy, with all the times I've been knocked down or even self-TKO-ed, I have always gotten back up.  I think the moral of my story or life has been becoming resilient even when crazy hits.

And with that crazy has come lots of life lessons and sometimes backward blessings that I just seem to fall into.

Little miracles. Like the little miracle that happened in the wreck I described above. My car very easily could have hit a person, or an animal when it drove itself across the street. But miracle of miracles, it hit a tree. I have more blessings than crazy. I don't know why but I am very thankful that's the case.

Your Turn

PC is already asleep. Jet lag is kicking his behind. But I have adjusted pretty well...she says with one eye beginning to droop closed.

Can you think back over a time when you had crazy hit but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise?  I love that expression that "I have survived all my bad days so far." Yup. It's true.

Hugs and kisses,

Leslie
